Mark McKee

Mark McKee had been coaching basketball in public schools for 28 years and has coached at all levels. He was the boys head basketball coach at Richardson Pearce High School a class 5-A school in the Dallas area as well as the girls head coach at the school. In recent years he has been very active with club basketball while still teaching at J.J. Pearce.

His experience in coaching has translated well to AAU basketball where he has spent the last fifteen years heavily involved with his own teams. His teams and former players have enjoyed a great deal of success at all levels going all the way down to the 2nd grade all the way up to the high school level. Current college players that have played for Coach McKee and he has been associated with are G.J. Vilarino-Gonzaga, Willie Warren-Oklahoma, Travis Hallam-University of Denver, Jonathan Sloan-Texas State, Anthony Hill-Colgate and many more.

Coach McKee feels that fundamentals are the key to success in basketball in the early years of development and should always be the point of emphasis. “I think too much structure along with demands placed on winning can limit the development of young players. Learning fundamentals and enjoying the game should always be a coach’s primary goal.”
